803 Squadron Fleet Air Arm 8M:L2916 08.05 1940
This Skua, operating from HMS "Ark Royal" got hit during an attack on a Dornier flying boat. The Skua made a forced landing at sea by Tovik, south-east of Harstad. Sub.Lt. Philip Noel Charlton, and the his Tail Gunner, Naval Airman F.Culliford were rescued and soon after returned to their unit. The Dornier also had to make a forced landing at Tepkilen in Efjord.
