97 Squadron RAF PB461 OF-M 22.12 1944
A large formation of 207 Lancasters and one Mosquito took off from their bases at Coningsby and Fulbeck. Their target was the synthetic oil refinery in Politz, Poland. On their return leg the plane had too low altitude and crashed into mountain Tindefjell. All seven onboard lost their lives.

One more Lancaster crashed near by on the same raid. Lancaster PB691 of 189Sqdn crashed at Snøhei in Åseral.
