Took off from Vaernes at 08:20. When bombing the airstrip at Skånland, they were attacked by two Gladiators of 263 Squadron (Flight Lieutenant Billy Williams and Sergeant George Stanley Milligan). Port engine caught fire and shortly after the port wing fell off and landed on the ground. The aircraft spun into the sea. Lt.Ulrich Meyer, Reg.Rat Dr.Friedrich Herzing, Obgfr.Werner Pohl, Fw.Paul Pattloch and Obgfr.Heinrich Singendunk were all killed in the crash.
