Started early in the morning together with Uffz.Erwin Zeuschel (Wnr.4910, white 18) on a mission to Murmansk. They ran into a dogfight in area Rutshi, north west of Alakurtti. Low on fuel Ogfr.Luther parachuted, but landed in a tree, unable to free himself. Both planes went missing. Luther's body was found some time after the war.
