Two Brewsters were shot down by German AA-fire this day. Pilot Aarre Miettinen got killed when his plane crashed here. The second Brewster crashed at Tolonen with pilot Kaarlo Saukkonen onboard. A Blenheim bomber BL-156 was also shot down the same day at Meltaus

There is a memorial of the crew of Blenheim BL-156, Brewster BW-357 and BW-379 at the church near by the crashsite of the Blenheim bomber in Meltaus.
