1./PLeLv 42 (Bomber Squadron) BL-156 18.10 1944

Took off along with eleven other Blenheims to bomb German troops along road sections Ounasjoki-Kittilä-Muoni. They were met with heavy German AA-fire. Nine planes received hits and BL-156 crashed and exploded here. All three onboard lost their lives. Pilot Lauri Kurki. Operator Lt.Jorma Herronen. Gunner/ radio op.Ero Villman.
