The aircraft received engine fire on a test flight and crashed into the sea 100km. west of Egersund. Uffz.Wilhelm Gärtner bailed out and landed in the sea. He was rescued, but later lost his life in air battle over Magdeburg in February 1945. The aircraft was found by fishermen in 1988 and is now on display at Flyhistorisk museum Sola, Stavanger.
