Took off from Lossiemouth on a training flight with a crew of eight. The aircraft failed to return and was listed as missing, presumed lost at sea. The wreck was discovered a month later. Full story on Linzee Druce web site here.

The two Pegasus engines were brought down to Braemar, by helicopter in 1999.

In 2003 a memorial with one of the engines was unveiled in the centre of Braemar, next to the village War Memorial.
